Love of God

Medical & Dental Clinics

In Honduras, public healthcare is often understaffed or lacks basic supplies. The "Love of God" clinic fills that gap by providing a facility where patients are treated with dignity, professional expertise, and prayer.

The medical side of the clinic functions as a primary care hub. It focuses on treating both acute illnesses and chronic conditions that are prevalent in impoverished rural areas.

  • General Consultations: Treating everything from respiratory infections and parasites (extremely common due to water quality) to skin conditions and injuries.

  • Chronic Disease Management: Providing medication and monitoring for high blood pressure and diabetes, which often go untreated in rural Honduras.

  • On-site Laboratory: The clinic features a lab that allows for immediate testing (blood work, urinalysis, etc.), which is a luxury in that region. This ensures patients get the right medicine immediately rather than guessing based on symptoms.

  • Pharmacy: They maintain a stocked pharmacy to provide low-cost or free medications to those who cannot afford the local commercial prices.

Dental pain is one of the leading causes of missed work and school in the region. Because specialized dental care is rare in the mountains, the clinic provides essential relief:

  • Extractions: For many patients, by the time they reach the clinic, a tooth is too decayed to save. Removing these prevents life-threatening infections and abscesses.

  • Cleanings & Fillings: Preventive care and restorative work to help locals maintain their natural teeth.

  • Oral Hygiene Education: Teaching children and parents how to prevent decay through proper brushing (and providing toothbrushes/paste, which are often considered luxury items).

The "Spiritual Prescription"

What makes the Love of God Clinic unique is its holistic approach.

  • Prayer: Every patient is offered the opportunity to be prayed for by the staff.

  • Discipleship: The ministry uses the clinic as a bridge to the community. When a physical need is met, it builds a relationship of trust that allows the staff to share the Gospel.

  • Remote Outreach: Periodically, the medical teams pack up their gear and travel hours into the mountains to hold "pop-up" clinics for those who are too old, young, or sick to make the trek to the city.

"The clinics are answers to my prayers"

"Ever since I moved to Honduras in 2006, I prayed to have a greater impact on the physical and spiritual health of the Lencas. And in 2014, God gave us not one but three clinics and served over 10,000 people the first year."
